Lazarus stumbles on danish chars (æøåÆØÅ) in strings (even widestrings)[Solved] lazarus / 9-Editor ---------------------------------------------------------------------- cdbc · 2009-08-01 02:43 HI Y'all I finally got around to updating Lazarus (0.9.26.2-stable on win32), nice. Somehow my little "app-manipulating-strings-alot" broke on the way. So now strings containing danish chars (æøå) get tossed . Any ideas are very welcome... Code: [Select]procedure TSubEntries.Parse_SRT_Format; type   TState = (smNone,smNew,smId,smTime,smText); var   State: TState;   I: integer;   S: widestring;   Se: TSubEntry; begin   try     if fStrings[fStrings.Count-1] <> '' then fStrings.Add('');   except end;   { special case for 1. st entry }   State:= smId; Se:= NewEntry;   for I:= 0 to fStrings.Count-1 do begin     S:= trim(fStrings[I]);     if S = '' then State:= smNew;     case State of       smNew:  begin                 if assigned(Se) then begin                   AddEntry(Se);                   if Merging then Se.Id:= Count; // refit id's for merging                 end;                 Se:= NewEntry;                 State:= smId;               end;       smId:   begin                 Se.Id:= strtoint(trim(S));                 State:= smTime;               end;       smTime: begin                 Se.AsString:= S;                 State:= smText;               end;       smText: begin                 Se.Text.Add(S);               end;     end;   end;   CheckForNullEntries; end; TIA - Benny ---------------------------------------------------------------------- theo · 2009-08-01 09:29 Lazarus uses UTF-8 now. Plus you can't mix everything: WideString, TStringList, UTF-8 Components... Try to understand what it's all about: http://wiki.lazarus.freepascal.org/LCL_Unicode_Support ---------------------------------------------------------------------- cdbc · 2009-08-01 11:04 Theo:  Thanks alot for your help, just what i needed.
