Decimals comma dot lazarus / 9-Editor ---------------------------------------------------------------------- LazaruX · 2009-03-05 10:55 Hi, In most of the countries to define a decimal we use a dot,    one thousend Euro is then E 1.000,00 In the United States to define a decimal they use a comma,    one thousend Euro is then E 1,000.00 So when making a program and converting a float to a string, depending on the language settings we can have a problem. Is there (on Windows) a way to find out in the registry what the default value for the system is, a comma (,) or a dot (.) ? I know the value for the current user is in: HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Control Panel > International and the sDecimal key defines the symbol. But this is only for the current user, not for the system. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Vincent Snijders · 2009-03-05 13:06 If you use StrToFloat, international settings are used. See also the sysutils unit documentation for these constants. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- LazaruX · 2009-03-05 13:15 If I use StrToFloat, the international settings of the current user will be used, but if I want the settings of the system (Administrator)? Does it depend on the Windows Language? (German Windows, American Windows,...) or what? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- arnoldb · 2009-03-05 13:33 It will most likely be the settings under: HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\International (That should be used by "system" accounts. If the Administrator user logged in and changed, you will have to try to pick it up for the administrator's identity / Main Identity in HKEY_USERS\ xxxxxxx \Control Panel\International for the Identity used by the administrator...
