GetRValue RGBToColor do not work! lazarus / 9-Editor ---------------------------------------------------------------------- DanNineOne · 2009-01-01 22:55 Got these errors: Error: Identifier not found "GetRValue" Error: Identifier not found "RGBToColor"                             (also happens wth g and b values) if I type "Graphics.<(dot)" then I see them in the list, I can type out the function name and watch the list narrow down until its just one function (Get[R/G/B]Value) and one letter missing when I type the last letter (e) it disapears from the list. ????? how do I get the (ignorant ) compiler to recognise that these are valid functions? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Phil · 2009-01-01 22:58 Did you include Graphics in the uses list? Thanks. -Phil ---------------------------------------------------------------------- DanNineOne · 2009-01-02 11:14 Graphics is in my uses list of the unit that is calling the function. Should I have it anywhere else? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Paul Ishenin · 2009-01-02 12:47 yes, LCLIntf I suppose. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- DanNineOne · 2009-01-02 13:35 I am sort of new to lazarus, (switched to it from delphi 2006) it reminded me of delphi 5 but its still completely different. So as I am new I have'nt much of an idea of what LCLIntf is, I have gathered that it is something to do with "Lazarus Component Library" but thats it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Paul Ishenin · 2009-01-02 13:56 LCLIntf is a windows compatibility unit. It contains some popular functions which windows unit has. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- DanNineOne · 2009-01-02 16:32 If you are suggesting that I should add graphics to the uses list in LCLintf... Quote from: Paul Ishenin on January 02, 2009, 01:47:18 pmyes, LCLIntf I suppose. It just makes a circular reference. Is the Get[R/G/B]Value problem a bug in the fpc compiler? Or is it a bug in the lazarus IDE?  It must be some kind of bug!    I would guess that it is a compiler bug? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Phil · 2009-01-02 16:53 GetRValue is a Win API function. To use this function cross-platform, include the LclIntf unit as Paul suggested. Don't use the Windows unit or your app won't be compilable on OS X or Linux. RGBToColor is a function in the Graphics unit. It doesn't have a Delphi equivalent  I don't think. If this doesn't help, please post the code that you're having trouble compiling. Thanks. -Phil ---------------------------------------------------------------------- DanNineOne · 2009-01-02 19:06 It works now, thanks! i got a bit confused as to what to put in wich uses list. Great help, thanks again!
