Special mathematic chars in *.Caption lazarus / 9-Editor ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Rozky · 2008-04-29 13:01 Hi, I make a calculator and I can't do pi or sqrt like chars (√, π) into the Button.caption.. It shows me only: ?. What is wrong? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- cyber_python · 2008-04-29 15:31 I don't really know if the following works but give it a try just in case .... - Set the font to one that supports those characters If you still cant set the desired symbols then : - Open a character map utility (I think there is one in windows under Start -> Utilities -> Character Map) - Find the corresponding character code (e.g. 134) Assign it to Button.Caption like this : Button.Caption := #134; ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Leledumbo · 2008-04-30 05:35 Just guessing, are those characters part of ASCII? or Unicode? If Unicode and you're on Windows, then you need to recompile LCL with -dWindowsUnicodeSupport. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Rozky · 2008-04-30 12:38 I tried both methods from cyber_python.. Everything goes, BUT!!! only in memo (memo.text). In Button.caption it dosn't work . I tried all charset and in my opinion into the Button.caption goes only charset: Default and symbol_charset, nothing more Can you help me again? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- cyber_python · 2008-04-30 14:20 You could use a TBitBtn instead of a TButton and set the caption to nothing and the glyph property to an image that has the desired symbol.
