Problem with synedit's mouse selection under gtk2

There seems to be some kind of problem with the mouse selection under
Lazarus 0.9.22 GTK2 - when I try to select text I have to move the
cursor above the line I want to select in order to achieve the desired
result :

Is this a known/fixed bug (I found one about flickering under GTK2
that is fixed in >=0.9.24) or should I report it?

If it is already fixed, does the patch affect also the synedit
component available to the Lazarus users?

I installed 0.9.24 and the problem is solved.
