Problem while using listbox components in cd

I created a project that needs many strings to be added and removed on
a listbox component while the user is using it. When I compiled and
run the exe file worked perfect, but when copied it on CD and tried to
run it, appeared an error that there can not be writing on the CD.
What can probbably be the cause and how to change it.

Hi there! It has nothing to do with Lazarus. Most probably you are
tryng to write to a file (in the app dir maybe?) that is in the cd.
Try copying the project on the system you want to run it, it should
work. If it works, then  you should consider making the changes on a
file that is placed on the target system. Finally, I suggest that you
create an installer for your application(there are various free and
commercial utilities) rather than run it from the CD-ROM.
