Copy/Paste issue in source editor lazarus / 9-Editor ---------------------------------------------------------------------- JohnvdWaeter · 2008-02-12 09:07 Hi All, Using 0.9.24 on WinXP If I use Copy/Paste in the source-editor, the pasted text appears at the current caret-position. This is correct. But then when I rebuild the application, the compiler halts at random positions in the source. There is that pasted text again, pasted at a random position in the source. Of course the pasted text makes no sense here, so the compiler traps the problem. This happens about 1 time out of 10 while editing in the source. I use Ctrl-Insert and Shift-Insert to copy and paste (old habit...) Is this a known issue? Could not find anything in the bugtracker and it is hard to reproduce. tia! John ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Leledumbo · 2008-02-13 03:28 Not sure if those two are still supported by Lazarus. I always use Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V, nothing goes wrong. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- JohnvdWaeter · 2008-02-14 07:49 AFAICT, It only happens when I copy between different files in the source editor, not when copying/pasting within the same file. I'll see if using CtrlC/CtrlV solves the problem. John ---------------------------------------------------------------------- JohnvdWaeter · 2008-02-16 11:48 Nope, same thing happens when using CtrlC/CtrlV. Random appearance of copied text in the editor, both in the originating file and in the destination file. The weird thing is that these random appearances do not mark the text as "modified". I had some circumstances where "build" gave me a compiled program without problems. Then after changing something arbitrary in code ( a buttoncaption or something trivial), a "build" stopped the compiler at the point where the randomly inserted text was found, sometimes in more than one place. That text was there before. but its insertion didn't mark the source as modified (no asterisk in tab-caption).... weird....
