Colors in TMemo's

Is there any way of coloring specific words/letters in a TMemo, rather
than the whole thing at once? or would i need to create a new
componant for that?

Short answer: no.
So you'll have to write it yourself.

What exactly do you need. I remember there is at least one component
capable of showing HTML. It doesn't allow to edit, so it could show
colored text, but you wouldn't be able to edit it.

To have a complete editor you would have to write it yourself.

Having a TRichEdit compatible component is often requested, but noone
implemented it yet, probably due to the large work it is to create
such component.

I think there is a TRichEdit component in the Lazarus-CCR.
