If I use the build- in assembler will the project compile both for
windows and linux without need the assembler code to be changed.

Assembler is architecture dependent. So x86 32 bits assembler will run
on any operating system, but only on x86 32bits machines, and not on
PowerPC or x86_64 or ARM or SPARK, etc
