Invalid File Handler message lazarus / 9-Editor ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Danail · 2006-11-27 19:46 When I compiled one of my aplications it compiles and runs perfect. However when I try to run it from windows this message appears. What could probably cause this? If some one knows please answer me. Is it possible to be caused from the TOpenDialog? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Danail · 2006-11-28 12:26 Here is some more information about the problem: I use the Lazarus version 0.9.6 When I checked the compiler options it is checked the Deafault option on the operation system. I don't know what is widgetset, but I haven't changed it. Other projects with my lazarus compile and run sucessfully, so it must be some problem with exactly this project. However this mistake report appears only when te program is started outside Lazarus. If I choose the "Run" option it compiles, builds and runs absolutely normally. Maybe it is some wrong project option? or whatever only for this project? If some one day I understand I will write it here. Thanks to all who have payed me attention    at this problem (topic is wieved 357 times to now   ). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- matthijs · 2006-11-28 16:38 First of all, you might consider using latest beta (0.9.20). If you only tell us that you have an error "Invalid File Handle", we can do very little to help. Have you tried running it from debugger? This might give you some information on where in your code this problem occurs. Or if you think to know where it happens post some code here and we can have a look. At the moment we have too little information to tell anything else. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Danail · 2006-12-03 18:34 I know that the version that I use is old, but my PC is also old and having on mind that my work is far away from PC-s, and thay are only my hobie, I don't want to bye a new one This is why I use old versions of many programs I am new at programming and I don't know how to run it from the debuger. I run projects with Lazarus by choosing the option run from the menu. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Zorba · 2006-12-03 21:57 Another thing is to do is review bugs submitted for the version you are using to see if that was a bug in that version. Maybe try an intermediate version after your version but not the latest one? Try to create the project again (in a different folder, and just copy and paste your code) maybe one of the options is incorrect? What OS are you on? On Linux gdb can be called from console quite easily. I'm not familiar with windows that well to suggest anything there. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Danail · 2006-12-04 17:12 I already did the copy paste stuff and the problem dissapeared however I want to know what caused it and I can't
