Problems with changing the shrift of a Memo

Maybe the question is very nooby but I can't solve it with Lazarus.
Here is a listing of my try:

 procedure TForm3.Form3Create(Sender: TObject);
 begin
 Memo1.Font.Name := 'Academy Engraved LET';
 Memo1.Font.Color := clGreen;
 Memo1.Font.Pitch := fpFixed;
 Memo1.Font.Height := 14;
 Memo1.Font.Size := 14;
 Form3.Color := Memo1.Color;
 end; 

 The code did't call a mistake report and run successful. However when
the aplication run the font changed only the font color. Nothing else.
I don't know why. I haven't changed anything from the object inspector
nor have any other code for the memo in my aplication. However I don't
suppose that changing the size and the pitch of the font is
impossible, because it is most important to change it in a memo
component. if you can't change it in a memo component, then what is
the purpose of the changing size option at all. So there must be my
fault somewhere. If you can help me change the pitch, height, size and
name of the font please tell me how. Thanks in regards.

Here is some more information that I was able to uderstand. For som
strange reason the Memo1.Font. properties can be changed only from the
memo itself. When I typed the same code in the OnEnter event for the
memo it happened. If I type the very same code in an event somewhere
outside the memo events it changes only the color of the font.

Which operating system and Lazarus version are you using? Also which
widgetset? You are probably using the default, but doesn´t harm to
ask.

I use the Lazarus version 0.9.6 When I checked the compiler options it
is checked the Deafault option on the operation system. I don't know
what is widgetset, but I haven't changed it. Here is some more what I
have understood. Other projects with my lazarus compile and run
sucessfully, so it must be some problem with exactly this project.
However this mistake report appears only when te program is started
outside Lazarus. If I choose the "Run" option it compiles, builds and
runs absolutely normally.

Sorry for the previous answer I was writing for a wrong problem
However these are the properties of my lazarus. The probm with the
memo apears everywhere - during lazarus run and runed by the operation
system.

0.9.6 ? This is almost 2 years old now. I suggest you to upgrade to a
newer Lazarus (latest is 0.9.20)

I just tested this code here with Lazarus 0.9.18 and it works
perfectly:

  Memo1.Font.Name := 'Courier New';
  Memo1.Font.Color := clGreen;
  Memo1.Font.Pitch := fpFixed;
  Memo1.Font.Height := 18;
  Memo1.Font.Size := 18;

Can you test with Courier New too? Maybe it´s something wrong with
your font.

My pc is old and this is why I use old version  However I managed to
fix the problem by using Memo to change its options alone.
