The compilation on Lazarus is very slow, why?

Hello!
I don't, what are my problems. Why I compile my Project, the
compilation take 3-5 minutes. What can I do?
My computer is "Celeron --533Mhz--", is it the problem?

after installing windows essentials lazarus slowed down by a factor
thousand.

Excluding the Lazarus directory (and the directory/directories where
your project/projects are) from on access virus scanning may help
there.
