What version control plugins are there for Lazarus? lazarus / 9-Editor ---------------------------------------------------------------------- vfclists · 2024-01-22 18:55 There is one mentioned at Are there any libraries for Lazarus integration with Git? is CCRDude - Lazarus VCS Helper Package · GitLab and is Windows only Are there any other "newer" cross-platform ones? I've also noticed a green bar in the gutter of my editor windows which appears to coincide with where I have added new code. Is that a feature provided by some built in version control system? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- vfclists · 2024-02-02 13:24 No love for this lonesome query of mine? Not even replies that none are known of besides the one referenced in the original post? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- cdbc · 2024-02-02 14:37 Hi ? { if that's better than nothing, then } Here you go...  Regards Benny ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Martin_fr · 2024-02-02 14:42 I am not aware of many version control plugins (the one you mentioned, and I heard about an svn one). The yellow/green bar are not related to any version control. - yellow, the line was edited, since the file was either loaded or saved    This includes edits that return to the original state, like pressing A and then backspace - green, the line was edited, but saved to disk after that ---------------------------------------------------------------------- vfclists · 2024-02-03 10:04 Quote from: Martin_fr on February 02, 2024, 03:42:13 pmI am not aware of many version control plugins (the one you mentioned, and I heard about an svn one). I take it then that the code to be extended to check against a specific commit of the file or some arbitrary checkpoint. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Martin_fr · 2024-02-03 12:45 Quote from: vfclists on February 03, 2024, 11:04:18 amQuote from: Martin_fr on February 02, 2024, 03:42:13 pmThe yellow/green bar are not related to any version control. SynGutterChanges in components/synedit It is a gutter-part. Gutterparts can be added to SynEdit like plugins. So you can write your own class, in your own package, implement what you want, and add it to SynEdit    Synedit.Gutter.Parts.Add() or    Synedit.RightGutter.Parts.Add() In the IDE you can use SourceEditorIntf to get access to the editors (that is a unit in package IdeIntf) You can also add Markup classes to highlight text itself by any criteria you chose. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- wennerer · 2024-02-03 19:38 Hi vfclists, I recently started writing a Git integration for my purposes. The name of my project is GitWizard. There is still a lot that can be improved, but if you want, you can try it out. You can find it here: https://github.com/wennerer/Gitwizard.git The basic idea of the programme is that the Lazarus user can create small script files with git commands and then execute them using GitWizard. As soon as the package is installed, the GitWizard item is located in the Tools menu. Click on this to open the window. If you want you can dock the window in the Lazarus IDE First click the Options button and enter an editor (e.g. xed, gedit, notepad, etc.) with which you can open the scripts or gitignore. If you want to use the scripts I used, click on the penultimate button (Restore backup). All command buttons have a pop-up (click with right mouse button) Attention! The restore button first deletes the command folder and then copies the scripts from the backup folder to the command folder. Please keep in mind that the project is still young and there is still a lot to improve. Best regards Bernd ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Aistis · 2024-02-09 10:17 These aren't plugins for Lazarus. But if you're looking for a GUI for git, you might try looking at https://git-scm.com/downloads/guis/. I myself use both git with a terminal, and git-gui when I find my non- gui skills lacking. With Debian based Linux derivatives you could just install it with Code: Bash  [Select][+][-]window.onload = function(){var x1 = document.getElementById("main_content_section"); if (x1) { var x = document.getElementsByClassName("geshi");for (var i = 0; i sudo apt-get install git-gui and then run it from a terminal with "git gui" (without the dash). I think it's worth mentioning, that my Windows install of git came together with git-gui installed from the get-go.
