Can Project Path be added to Source Editor Screen lazarus / 9-Editor ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Josh · 2023-06-28 09:06 Hi Been updating/copy data from older version of an app to current version, and now and again i was loosing track of where I was. Could the editing project path be including in the source editor title, and maybe the current build mode? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- wp · 2023-06-28 09:19 In the Editor Options, "Pages and Windows" > "Notebook Tabs", there is a checkbox "Show file name in caption". I think this is what you need. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- JuhaManninen · 2023-06-28 17:53 Quote from: Josh on June 28, 2023, 11:06:10 amCould the editing project path be including in the source editor title, and maybe the current build mode? Project path and build mode can be shown in the IDE's main window title bar. There are "IDE title shows ..." settings in Environment options -> Window. The editor option mentioned by wp shows the name and path of each edited file. It can differ from the project's path. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Curt Carpenter · 2023-06-28 21:20 I've had that experience of getting lost too.  Is there a good way to discover all of the relevant paths from inside the IDE? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Josh · 2023-06-29 13:16 Hi Thanks wp & Juha, both options are helping me know which project i'm on. Just exploring the options, they are mind blowing.. QuoteProject path and build mode can be shown in the IDE's main window title bar. There are "IDE title shows ..."Personally; I think should be on by default.. Another quick question, maybe should be a new topic. when developing App, option for GUI app i have ticked  (-Wg Win32 Gui), is this purely for win 32 or applicable to any GUI app targeted at win 32/64 Darwin 64/m1, Linux etc. if  its for all targets is the win32 gui a bit non intuative. (stops the terminal/console from auto loading) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Martin_fr · 2023-06-29 13:25 The file format for windows has a flag for console vs gui. For other OS, there is no such difference. Mind, that if you untick the box, you can still write a GUI app. The difference is that windows will open a console along with the program. Then your GUI app, can additionally use writeln and readln. Under Linux writeln and readln work when the app was started from a terminal. So that setting only changes if Windows will open the console window. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Josh · 2023-06-29 15:58 Thanks Martin for the clarification  So only valid for windows 32 Windows 64, Ignored by all else. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- JuhaManninen · 2023-06-29 21:02 Quote from: Curt Carpenter on June 28, 2023, 11:20:30 pmIs there a good way to discover all of the relevant paths from inside the IDE? I always turn it on as I setup a new IDE, never seen a situation where I did not want to see it.
