Is lazarus-ide.org blocking my IP? lazarus / 8-Other ---------------------------------------------------------------------- sirpenguin · 2015-08-07 01:59 Hello, I switched ISPs about four months ago, and after that I could not access this website. I have tried using different computers and different devices, but none of them would connect, leading me to think that this site has blocked my IP. I know it is not a problem with just my computer. I checked the firewall on my router, and that was not the problem. Any help is greatly appreciated. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- HeavyUser · 2015-08-08 00:57 Start of by using one of the "is it just me" services. eg http://www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com/ http://downorisitjustme.com/ After that and if the service answers "it is just you" as I suspect is the case then run a trace route to see where the problem is or what is going on. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Martin_fr · 2015-08-08 12:22 Afaik the website does not block individual IP. First of all try a traceroute. See where it ends. I do not know if it affects the website, but long ago (and I do not know if that is still the case), some of the sites had issues with bigger MTU. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- sirpenguin · 2015-08-19 00:14 Hi, Sorry for taking such a long time to respond. I have attached an image of my tracert. I guess the website doesn't like my HTTP requests? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Martin_fr · 2015-08-19 00:31 Code: [Select]ping www.lazarus-ide.org -f -l 1420 Pinging lazarus-ide.org [80.123.225.56] with 1420 bytes of data: Reply from 80.123.225.56: bytes=1420 time=57ms TTL=54 ping www.lazarus-ide.org -f -l 1430 Pinging lazarus-ide.org [80.123.225.56] with 1430 bytes of data: Packet needs to be fragmented but DF set. Here is a page that may help setting the mtu for your system (or google) http://www.richard-slater.co.uk/archives/2009/10/23/change-your-mtu- under-vista-windows-7-or-windows-8/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- sirpenguin · 2015-08-19 01:01 I just tried this, but it did not solve the problem. I am still unable to load the website. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- sirpenguin · 2015-08-19 02:11 I originally had my MTU set at 1500, and tried pinging the website with 1420 which was successful without errors. Then I set my MTU to 1420, but the website refused to load, so I checked the ping and it was reporting that it needed to be fragmented. Then I tried 1350 MTU ping while my interface was set at 1420, and the ping was successful. After I set my ping to 1350, it still would fragment. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- sirpenguin · 2015-08-19 16:26 I should also add that I am able to access the website on my home connection via an iPhone, but not with any of the computers. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Marc · 2015-08-19 18:31 This forum blocks several IP ranges due to spamming. When you try to register you get a message about this. The lazarus website doesn't block any IP. FYI, the lazarus website and this forum runs on the same server. So if the lazarus site doen't load, something is wrong with your network or browser setup.
