TRegExpr Library Problem lazarus / 8-Other ---------------------------------------------------------------------- IndianaJones · 2010-07-09 06:02 Hi all, I am looking for the TRegExpr library, non of the following links are working. * AnSo @ Web   http://anso.da.ru/   http://www.regexpstudio.com/AnSo/Andrey_Sorokin.html * TRegExpr library   http://www.regexpstudio.com/ (~118 KB)   Component and help file available in English, Russian, Bulgarian,   German, French and Spanish. And also, Is it compatible with the freepascal? Thanks ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Leledumbo · 2010-07-09 07:30 What do you need it for? Can't you just use the one shipped with FCL? Well...it doesn't have any docs but it comes with an example / test file that you can use as a reference. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- eny · 2010-07-09 10:30 The one IndianaJones is looking for is the really excellent library created by Andrey V. Sorokin. I've been using it for years and it works really well. Unfortunately the package has gone below the radar, but there still is one location where it can be downloaded from (I've posted it before): http://files.codes-sources.com/fichier.aspx?id=49194&f=RegExpr.pas It's a french site, but you can copy/paste the code of the lib in a sourcefile. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Troodon · 2010-07-09 13:50 Attached is an archive containing Andrey Sorokin's RegExpr routines and documentation. I do not know whether this is the most recent release, nor have I obtained Andrey's permission to post it here. Should he have any objection in regards to this posting I will remove it immediately. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- marcov · 2010-07-09 20:41 Hmm, that clause 3 in the license is nasty. Not that I have a real big problem with in principle, but it is incompatible with e.g. GPL. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- eny · 2010-07-09 21:22 Quote from: marcov on July 09, 2010, 10:41:50 pmHmm, that clause 3 in the license is nasty. After rereading I have some doubts about my earlier statement, so forget that. It was just a routine check on licenses, as I do for most packages I see. I just don't like own invention licenses. It complicates matters for distributions of Pascal source. (like FPC, Jedi etc). Because even if they have no problem with the license itself, they risk becoming an unpenetrable minefield of licenses exceptions etc. Often the kind of exceptions are relatively mild(*), and the "distributions" problem is\ a detail that the original authors often didn't contemplate. Without it, it is BSD license, for which most projects have guidelines. (*) Like e.g. sb who had BSD but with disallowed usage for military uses. Well meant, but the chances they'll actually use it in offensive installations is near zero, and the distributors have an headache more. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- IndianaJones · 2010-07-10 14:09 @Leledumbo, i need for input field validation, so I will have a look to the FCL code and reply in here, thanks. @eny, Thanks for the link eny, I got the source code and it looks promising. @Others, thanks. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- eny · 2010-07-11 07:52 Look at Troodon's upload as well. It contains the additional helpfile, which is useful for getting up to speed quickly.
