Multi-Point application lazarus / 8-Other ---------------------------------------------------------------------- LinPix · 2009-11-04 14:34 Hello, I was wondering if we can have access to Multi-point functions under Lazarus. Now, we have Windows 7 which can be Multi-point and Linux can have it thanks to MPX . It would be really nice if if we could use it in Lazarus. Do you think it's hard to implement ? Thanks ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Marc · 2009-11-05 13:14 Can windows 7 ? How ? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- LinPix · 2009-11-07 10:32 Well, I guess if you have any multi-touch device. I've never try it but, you see everywhere on the web that windows 7 can do it. I don't think you can plug two mouses and have two cursors on the screen like mpx, but if you have a touch screen (able of multi-point) you can have it. (They say windows have multi-point there : http://windows.microsoft.com/en-GB/windows7/products/features/touch) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Marc · 2009-11-07 10:57 Yaeh... I thought they planned but skipped it. However the movie they show, only shows touch, no multitouch ---------------------------------------------------------------------- LinPix · 2009-11-07 21:47 Yeah, I'm quite sure there is Multi-Point, (you can see on youtube guys playing with Paint on a touchscreen with two fingers at the same time). Firefox is planning to support Multi-Point (I think it's for the version 3.6) and there's already a prototype (developed by a Brazilian student) which work well under Windows 7. Pfff... I really wonder how he does that  . But never mind, it would have be nice to play around with it and would have be useful in my program but it's a bit earlier I think. Maybe someone would implement it in the futur  . ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Marc · 2009-11-08 17:16 I've been playing with it this weekend. Since I've no real multitouch device, I needed to emulate it [1]. I've no real win7 installation, but only one inside a VM. What appears is that the VM mouse won't work with the emulator. An attached bluetooth mouse did. So in theory with another mouse it should work. To be continued... [1] http://multitouchvista.codeplex.com
