Is there a runtime library to get the Quickcompile file to get running? lazarus / 8-Other ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Robert W.B. · 2009-03-11 15:23 People that tested my Quickcompile file from Lazarus/Linux say they can't start the file and there's errors? Is there a runtime library that they can use with the Quickcompile file to get the app run in Linux? I just wan't to distribute the Quickcompile version of my app and people must be able to run the app without problems. In windows/Delphi(I hate to mention this) when You compile your app You can just distribute the exe-file without anything else and it starts and works in most every windows version! What the difference about the compiled version in Linux and the exe- file in Windows? Thanks friends My app is nearly finished and will be distributed on my site: http://hem.bredband.net/robbanux ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Leledumbo · 2009-03-12 05:40 There should be (in general) no runtime library dependency as everything is statically linked. Under Windows using native widgetset (WinAPI) this is 99.99 % true (actually, I've never seen the 0.01 % failure). Under Linux however, there's actually a requirement: The runtime library of widgetset you use (QT, GTK, etc.) Make sure your clients have them. Use ldd to see the application dependencies so you can inform them what to install. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Bart · 2009-03-13 13:15 A plain form requires the following libs (on my Suse 10.0): Code: [Select]Lib                      -> provided by libgdk_pixbuf.so.2      gdk-pixbuf (libgdk-pixbuf-gnome2 (?)) libglib-1.2.so.0 libgmodule-1.2.so.0   libglib1.2 / glib-1.2 libgdk-1.2.so.0 libgtk-1.2.so.0          libgtk+ / gtk-1.2 libpthread.so.0 libc.so.6 libdl.so.2 libm.so.6 /lib/ld-linux.so.2        glibc-2 libX11.so.6               xorg-x11-6 (X11R6) libXi.so.6 libXext.so.6              xorg-x11-libs-6 (X11R6) Bart
