Powtils (or PWU, or PSP) lazarus / 8-Other ---------------------------------------------------------------------- chrnobel · 2009-02-25 08:45 Hi all. I am using Powtils (V1.6) and am in general very happy with it. However I am missing a forum for this, as it seems like Lars have more ore less frozen the project. Does anyone know of a forum where there is a Powtils group, or could it be relevant to have as a separate group as part of this forum? It's too early to think that it's frozen, only a year from the latest release. Try contacting the author to make sure. It's quite irrelevant since it's only a some kind of libraries / packages, even big packages like GLScene don't have its own group here. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- chrnobel · 2009-02-25 10:31 Quote from: Leledumbo on February 25, 2009, 10:33:17 amNot trying 1.7.1 ?Nope, as I find it way to buggy, and as a lot of changes have been made since 1.6, without being consequent - non consistent procedure names etc. QuoteYou can ask questions about Powtils here. PHP, but very little when talking Powtils (or making active webapplications from Pascal), which I find at shame, as my experience with Powtils is that it is possible to make extreme fast, solid and secure webapplications. Besides that, GLScene do have a news group, so this could also be a feasible way. /Christian ---------------------------------------------------------------------- bee · 2009-02-25 13:09 > but my reason for bringing this up was also for getting knowledge of whatever surrounds the use of Powtils, like whats happening if setting headers etc. Well, I think it's more related to HTTP thingy. No matter whatever library/package you're using, HTTP header would behave the same. But, since PHP becomes some kind of de facto "the language of web programming", it makes the whole things related to PHP. > which I find at shame, as my experience with Powtils is that it is possible to make extreme fast, solid and secure webapplications. Yes, indeed. I have several web apps built using Powtils. However, I now move to more scalable technology: FastCGI. You may want to play around with it on ExtPascal project. It's not as simple as Powtils (plain CGI) at the first sight. But, after you know how to deal with it, you'll know the power. With a bit extra effort, you can even combine Powtils with FCGI.
