Is this a While - Do bug? lazarus / 8-Other ---------------------------------------------------------------------- anthony · 2008-02-27 10:13 Hello, Compiling the program below produces a compile error. Code: [Select] Program bug; Procedure Dummy; Begin End; Begin    While True Do Dummy; End. This is my minimal program generating the compile error. I compiled this direct into fpc 2.2.0 under Linux MDV 2008.0. The generated error is : Asm: [push imm8] invalid combination of opcode and operands. Also tested in Delphi : OK Is this a bug?  Thanks. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Leledumbo · 2008-02-28 04:04 I think so, perhaps in the code generator for your Linux, because it compiles on Windows. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Marc · 2008-02-28 09:53 works here on linux too. Have you some changed options in your fpc.cfg ? This looks like an external assembler issue, however I expect a the internal assembelr to be used by default. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- anthony · 2008-02-29 12:34 Dear Marc, Your remark brought me much further. I used the command-line compiler to generate the assembler source for further investigation. The command line compiler did not gave me the compiler error I received in the IDE. In the IDE was Options |  Compiler |  Code generation | Level 1 optimalizations enabled. After disabling the optimalizations the compiler errors were gone. You think this is a bug to report? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Marc · 2008-03-04 10:32 I think so
