Lazarus is a Miracle lazarus / 8-Other ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Dr.Theopolis · 2007-12-07 23:41 I once programmed with Delphi 3-5 very extensively until about three years ago. Then I got into web design for a while. I wanted to start doing some programming projects again but cross-platform, and I looked and found Lazarus.  At first I thought - this is great but it'll probably be some half-baked work in progress. Wow was I wrong! Even though it isn't perfect yet, I have looked and looked and looked for a good, intuitive, easy-to-learn, cross-platform development environment and have not found anything that comes even close to Lazarus. Lazarus and Free Pascal are miracles for me. Thanks to all the developers who made it possible. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- antonio · 2007-12-08 15:28 I agree. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- nelson777 · 2007-12-08 15:28 There´s also the excellent and very complete wxWidgets cross-platform library that has Code::Blocks and wxDevCpp RADs which are pretty cool. wxWidgets has binding for several languages like C++ (the most common) but also Pascal, Java, Python and even Lua. All these are GPL software. www.wxwidgets.org - Main library project wxdsgn.sourceforge.net - Excelent RAD IDE but windows only (yet project are still cross-platform) www.codeblocks.org - Cross-platform RAD IDE (with wxSmith plugin) If anyone knows any others please post. I´m allways looking for news ---------------------------------------------------------------------- craigTheBrit · 2007-12-13 14:41 I agree! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- bee · 2008-01-15 11:27 One thing that missed out of Lazarus project is: a professional web site. Let's take a look and learn from other open source projects web sites or the wxWidgets web site in particular. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- LazaruX · 2008-01-15 13:25 QuoteOne thing that missed out of Lazarus project is: a professional web site.
