stacktrace in a thread lazarus / 8-Other ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ciuly · 2007-11-21 19:44 I managed to get correct stacktrace from the main thread: http://www.l azarus.freepascal.org/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&p=21465 but using that is not getting me information about the trace, only the address stacktrace Code: [Select]   $0050FABF   $0053C708   $0051A401   $00558361   $0054AC56   $7C80B50B   $00000000   $0050FABF   $0053C708   $0051A401   $00558361   $0054AC56   $7C80B50B   $00000000 needless to say, this doesn't help at all. on the link page of the project compiler settings, only the first 3 are checked (-g, -gd and -gl) (I tried only with -gl then -g and -gd, but to no avail) on the code page of the compiler settings, nothing is checked and faster code generation is selected and level 1 optimization. what am I doing wrong? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Marc · 2007-11-22 09:40 I'm not sure, but I think all units must be compiled with at least -gl (also rtl/fcl if you want to see lines from them) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ciuly · 2007-11-22 13:14 all units ARE compiled with -gl. not sure about rtl/fcl. how do I check for that? I've changed my logging system to also log the current thread id. I also forced an exception in the main thread. results: - in the main thread, the stacktrace is written correctly with all details (line number, unit name, method name, etc) - in another thread (I think it's created by indy, not sure though as I can't see the trace), the stacktrace only has the first line correct (which is the place where the log is called) and then it's all empty. it seems that forcing an exception in main thread made that one first line appear in all threads, but that's all. I will now try and make sure indy is compiled with -gl and -g. I'll get back with results.
