windres.exe: can't open (myproject.res) for output lazarus / 8-Other ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Jonatas · 2007-04-24 03:34 Hi Folks, Has anyone ideas about this error? Hint: Start of reading config file D:\sistemas\lazarus\fpc\2.0.4\bin\i386-win32\fpc.cfg Hint: End of reading config file D:\sistemas\lazarus\fpc\2.0.4\bin\i386-win32\fpc.cfg Free Pascal Compiler version 2.0.4 [2007/03/26] for i386 Copyright (c) 1993-2006 by Florian Klaempfl Target OS: Win32 for i386 Compiling autven.lpr Compiling resource autven.res D:\sistemas\lazarus\fpc\2.0.4\bin\i386-win32\windres.exe: can't open `autven.res' for output: No such file or directory autven.lpr(21,1) Error: Error while linking autven.lpr(21,1) Fatal: There were 1 errors compiling module, stopping I'm using Lazarus #0.9.22 beta Date: 2007-04-22       svn revision: 10809 What's happend? maybe a bug? Thanks a lot! Jonatas. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- felipemdc · 2007-04-24 05:53 How did you compile your .res file? Windres will only accept files compiled with itself. If you have a file compiled with Delphi resource compiler, for example, it won't work. Plus, the file needs to be in the same directory as the source that calls it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Jonatas · 2007-04-27 12:24 Hi Sekel, This error occurs when I order to Lazarus “Run” (F9). I just make three isolated forms under one project. The project is too small. Thanks very much. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- njb · 2007-05-03 17:56 Did you start getting this error after adding version information to your project? That's what I did just before getting this error ... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- njb · 2007-05-18 11:20 Right ... don't ask me why, but I got rid of this problem by removing the statement (in my case) {$R remove_lines.res} from (again in my case) remove_lines.lpr... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Hansaplast · 2007-06-16 23:41 Thanks for the tip !! I ran into the same problem when I wanted to work on an old(er) project that I made with an earlier version of Lazarus. Removing {$R myappplication.res} from myapplication.lpr worked perfect ---------------------------------------------------------------------- LBAWinOwns · 2007-06-21 01:34 Thanks a lot njb! That was really helpful! Unbelievable that it got posted almost just in time for me to stumble upon the same problem . edit: Can I fix project info without getting a similar error?
