unknown component issues with v21 (1121) lazarus / 8-Other ---------------------------------------------------------------------- JimBodkins · 2006-11-28 02:44 I am getting unpublished property errors with TDateEdit (Text) and others (TCalcEdit). I was forced to switch to v21 from v18. My first opportunity to check existing code produced load failures. Were there changes to the Misc tab components? Thanks Jim ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Marc · 2006-11-28 16:25 So what is the error ? You get this when you switch from .18 to .21  or do you get this when swithcing back from .21 to .18 ? In bothacases, removing the offending properties from the lfm will solve it ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Vincent Snijders · 2006-11-28 18:07 This is what has changed: http://www.freepascal.org/cgi- bin/viewcvs.cgi?root=lazarus&rev=10189&view=rev I asked on the mailing list what the reasons were. I haven't had a reply yet. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- JimBodkins · 2006-11-28 18:37 Its a very long list of errors. (The clipboard isnt available at that point) My impression was that it could be something else - as removing the properties it claimed were now unpublished makes no sense. It basically says that (I use these two examples, this also happens with calcedit). Text and ParentColor are unpublished properties of dateedit. (At this point the line of code in my program that references Text is selected).  I havent allowed automatic removal as it just hasnt seemed correct that Text would be unpublished. I did a test with a new application with dateedit and text was available via code completion. This application was started some time ago with v16 and has been moved forward. I suspect it is something else. These 'misc' components have always been problematic. They are also the most likely to fail with GTK2 for example. (The edits with buttons. If you place them on a panel or 'tab page etc' they lose their glyph. I havent tried that in several versions. That might be fixed. But they have been breakable - and useful )
