TSynEdit bugfixes and improvements, BED 0.1.2 lazarus / 8-Other ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Bad Sector · 2006-11-07 09:27 I released BED 0.1.2 which mostly includes some bugfixes and improvements on TSynEdit (although it has some other nice stuff, like better syntax highlighter choosing based on code syntax, better project save/load and a nice nice nice "close all" option in File menu :-P). The modified TSynEdit code is available from here. Place the modified synedit.pp over Lazarus 0.9.18's sources (lazarus/components/synedit, IIRC) and you'll be ok. The site contains a full list with details on the modifications, but here is a short one:     *  I fixed a bug in automatic indentation when tab characters were used.     * I fixed a bug in selection and caret navigation when tab characters were used.     * I fixed a bug in word selection with double clicking that misplaced the caret when tab characters were used.     * I fixed a bug that made bracket highlighting to perceive brackets in strings as brackets in code, thus highlighting the wrong brackets.     * I made bracket highlighting to occur for closing brackets when the caret is in front of and after the bracket. This makes brackets to be highlighted while the programmer types code. So, have fun mixing my mod with Lazarus' sources (although, given that the last comment about modifying the source is from 2002, i don't think it'll be that hard.... :-P). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Vincent Snijders · 2006-11-07 10:24 Can you provide a patch for the synedit changes you made, so that they can be considered for adding the Lazarus Synedit source? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Bad Sector · 2006-11-07 10:36 Replacing the old .pp file with my modified one doesn't count as a "patch"? I need to download 0.9.18's source because i didn't saved the original one... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Vincent Snijders · 2006-11-07 10:44 See the wiki how to create a patch. The synedit file is a large file. You can download it from svn. You can see the history here. As you see a lot of changes after 0.9.18, so without a patch, it would be hard to see, what changes have been made by you and what by other people since 0.9.18. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Bad Sector · 2006-11-07 10:55 I don't have SVN (i'm at work, so i can't use it here) and i don't have net connection in my home (yet). However, i downloaded the file from svn and applied a patch against mine, so here it is: http://www.slashstone.com/more/lazstuff/badsectors-synedit- mods.patch.bz2 Although i'm not sure if this is the RIGHT thing to do... this patchfile is big (22kb uncompressed) and i assume that it contains what others did... in reverse. So, here is another patchfile for version 0.9.18 (from svn's tags/0_9_18) versus mine. That's smaller (7kb uncompressed): http://www.slashstone.com/more/lazstuff/badsectors-synedit-mod- since-0918.patch.bz2 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Bad Sector · 2006-11-08 09:22 No reply here and the SVN version doesn't have my bugfixes... Is this going to be added on the trunk or i have to do something more? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Vincent Snijders · 2006-11-08 09:25 Thanks for the patch. I sent Mattias a link to this topic. I expect him to look at it within a week. If you want to make sure, it won't be forgotten, then create a bug report with this patch. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Bad Sector · 2006-11-08 09:31 Ok. I saw that a new version has just been posted (there wasn't any 0.9.20 announcement before i logged in). To make things easier (and be able to compile BED with the new version), i'll redo what i did in 0.9.18 to 0.9.20. Then i'll post a patch against that.
