Nobody counted to me... lazarus / 8-Other ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Onjahyr-BR · 2006-09-15 17:54  Later that the CCRDude wrote of the TurboPower, I searched in google and I discovered that it comes with the Lazarus. How to install all the components in the Lazarus of one time with the command "Make Clean All"???????? TKS ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Zorba · 2006-09-16 08:37 Components => Configure Installed Packages => select a package from right side and click Install Selection (Some will not compile/link properly though, but you can remove them if that happens). When you have everything selected just rebuild Lazarus. On Linux I do this as root since it's easier, and later I run Lazarus as user and still have my components on the palette although they don't show in Packages as installed. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- CWBudde · 2006-09-16 09:48 Hello everyone, (portuguêse versão embaixo) being a german who'd learned english at school and portugese two years ago at the university, it's really funny to read all the posts of Onjahyr-BR and some other brazilian guys. I don't want to sound rude now and I really appretiate them writing in english, but it's funny that - especially in this post - some sentences sound very funny, while the direct 1:1 translation of each word to portugese does not. I'm not completely sure about that but I guess his subject would be better translated: 'Nobody told me' because 'to count' and 'to tell' is the same word in portugese "contar". Even more funny is the fact, that in german they both have the same base as well: 'zählen' vs. 'erzählen'... Ciao,    Christian ---------------------------------------------------------------------- RudieD · 2006-09-18 16:14 That is one thing that I have picked up from some of my English friends, they usually don't laugh at someone who gets it wrong. They rather try to help them. That's really a good trademark ! Languages (Human) can be a bit tricky some times. I'm still looking for a good translation to english for the afrikaans "Ek praat afrikaans, verstaan engels en vry in bryl !" ---------------------------------------------------------------------- alanphys · 2006-09-19 07:39 The thing about Afrikaans, (or for that matter most languages) is that there are some concepts or ideas which are untranslatable, or very difficult to translate. Full marks to those non-english speakers who have been posting on these forums. I've been speaking it all my life and even now things sometimes don't come out the way I mean them. I would encourage you to continue posting on these forums as well as the other language forums as your problems help us and (hopefully) we can help you. At the end of the day this is not about English, Spanish, Portugese or any other language, but about Lazarus and Pascal. Cheers Alanphys
