Custom cursor from resource

Please can anyone explain how to put a custom cursor in a resource and
how to load it for a specific window or control?

There are explanations here:

Unfortunately they use LoadCursor windows api, so this only works on
Windows.

You will need to create a .res file. The Virtual Magnifying Glass
source code has a .rc example script and also some batch scripts to
compile it into a .res file. You can use this as an example.
