Delphi book and Lazarus. lazarus / 8-Other ---------------------------------------------------------------------- objectref · 2006-02-10 09:47 Hi to all folks here, i was wondering, to what version of Delphi is Lazarus "compliant" ? I mean, i have a rather lengthy Delphi 4 book (from my old Delphi days) and i am planning to read it again, from page 1. Is the stuff there "accurate" to the current Lazarus version (language, VCL->LCL ant the like)  or i sould buy a new Delphi book from a later version ?? Thanks for any help. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- felipemdc · 2006-02-10 19:13 No, I would say this book will do just fine. I would say Lazarus is about 95% compatible with all Delphi 2 and higher, except that it can't use CLX or .NET, only VCL. remember to use {$mode delphi} before the interface keywork on your units to activate delphi compatibility mode. Also some components are on different places, like TButton is on Buttons.
