The first shareware made with Lazarus? lazarus / 8-Other ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Bad Sector · 2005-11-15 15:48 I've made a little program that allows people to create web pages in minutes by only providing the content and letting the program create the style (HTML, images, etc) using a set of predefined themes. The program is Slashstone PageBuilder and is shareware, in the true manner that you get the full functionality and if you like it and use it, you register for it - no demo, no time limiting, everything is there :-). I'm not sure, but i think that's the first shareware program made with lazarus. To show my appreciation, i've added a link to the Lazarus page from the program's LInks subpage and added the "Produced with Lazarus" image in the about box: (http://www.slashstone.com/gimme/shot.jpg) The product's page is http://www.slashstone.com/more/pagebuilder/ Also i've made a unit for storing tree-like structures in a textual form (it's like XML, but less readable). Slashstone PageBuilder uses this unit for almost everything. The unit's source code will be released soon under the terms of the MIT license. Lastly i'm thinking to write a simple HTML rendering component... currently the help file for the program is outside of it... i need somehow to put it inside. I could use MSHTML ActiveX control but a) i don't know how to do that in Lazarus :-P and b) i plan to port it in Linux and MacOS X. I mostly work in Linux anyway, so this would be nice. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- felipemdc · 2005-11-16 09:52 Maybe you can add it here: http://wiki.lazarus.freepascal.org/index.php/Projects_using_Lazarus =) About help files, you can use the Windows API to open a Windows Help File. You can use a IFDEF and use something else on Linux. If you don't know how to use a IFDEF try reading this: http://wiki.lazarus.freepascal.org/index.php/Hardware_Access You can also use another format for the help file and simple use the LCL or Windows API to open the document and choose a good renderer. This might help http://wiki.lazarus.freepascal.org/index.php/Executing _External_Programs. There is a Win API function to open documents, but I don't remember the name... For creating help files I use http://www.helpandmanual.com/hmpage.htm. It is expensive, but very professional. You can import from many formats, work with a single source and then export for html help, winhelp, printing, etc. ActiveX controls are *very* anti-crossplatform, and thus not supported at the moment. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Marc · 2005-11-16 10:28 Can you write a news item on it ?
