I wrote a Pascal syntax highlighting file for GNU nano lazarus / 8-Other ---------------------------------------------------------------------- CarlosManuelM.Zumaya · 2026-04-04 21:40 Salutations! I hope all of you are having a great time.  I'm aware that probably most of you use Lazarus, but maybe sometimes you need to use the the default editor in GNU/Linux systems, which is nano. I actually use this tool a lot, but it doesn't seem to have native support for Pascal files. So I set about creating support for Pascal in nano myself. Here is the repository with the '.nanorc' file: https://codeberg.org/CarlosManuelMartinezZumayaRepos/pascalhighlight4n ano You can insert this file either into your '~/nanorc' folder or '/usr/share/nano' folder. This should enable highlighting for '.pas' files. It would be polite from my part to clarify a couple of things: First, Pascal isn't my primary language, so some definitions might be quite incorrect. Also, nano's configuration files use regular expressions, which aren't my strong suit, but I followed several references to achieve a decent result. Anyway, I tried to make the file as customizable as possible and even included links in case someone with more experience (and intelligence) than me wants a more efficient file. That's all for now. I sincerely hope you find it useful. Warm regards! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Thaddy · 2026-04-05 06:08 Quote from: CarlosManuelM.Zumaya I'm aware that probably most of you use Lazarus, but maybe sometimes you need to use the the default editor in GNU/Linux systems, which is nano.
