fpc 3.3.2-1 vs 3.2.2-10 lazarus / 64-FPC development ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Bigendshell · 2024-01-19 14:29 I have just setup a Fedora 38 system and as I have done many times before, I downloaded the three packages for Lazarus and installed them. This included fpc 3.2.2.-1 I needed to update another package so I tried to do an update using dnf as normal. To my surprise, it reported that there was a later version of fpc in the fedora repositories. (3.2,2-10) Is there any conflict if I remove the downloaded packages and install the ones from the repository? If not, it might be worth putting a note about this possibility on the download pages. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ccrause · 2024-01-19 16:38 Looking at the Fedora package change log shows the changes.  It appears as if most changes are to fix issues on Fedora specifically, so I would assume it is generally "better" to install the latest available package. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Bigendshell · 2024-01-19 19:44 Thanks for that. I'll see what happens with the app build tomorrow after I've removed and re-installed the packages.
