Navigate by using control + click lazarus / 6-IDE-CodeTools ---------------------------------------------------------------------- chronozphere · 2011-04-03 16:00 Hey everyone, Delphi allows you to easily navigate through your classes and type definitions by using ctrl + click. Lazarus also supports ctrl+click but it only allows you to jump from an implementation to a definition and not the other way around. I know that you can use Ctrl + Shift + Arrow up, but I prefer having one (easier) shortcut to jump around. Would it be possible to add this? If I find the time, I would be willing to work on it myself, but I don't know exactly how to set it all up, and how the sourcecode of the source-editor is organized. Any help or feedback on this suggestion is highly appreciated. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- laggyluk · 2012-12-05 17:49 bump. I see that there is a possibility to define mouse actions in ide options panel but 'jump to procedure definition' is missing from the list. Is there another way to assign such action to ctrl+click (or whatever+click)? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Martin_fr · 2012-12-05 20:39 You can use the advanced mouse options. (unfold the "mouse" entry in the tree) http://wiki.lazarus.freepascal.org/IDE_Window:_EditorMouseOptionsAdvan ced Don't worry, looks more complicated than it is. Set your normal options first. Once you use advanced, you can no longer change them. Well you can, but that resets the advanced, and you will have to do the advanced again. For your case: Prepare, in the normal mouse options: - Assign an action(e.g. Paste) to the mouse button/control key combo that you like   e.g. ctrl-shift-left-mouse In the advanced options: - select the "Text" node (in the TreeView: All, Text, Selection, ...) - Find the correct line in the big grid (right, upper grid / can be sorted by clicking headers)   You need to check button (left), and Shift (Y), Alt (N or -), Ctrl(Y).    Option should show the action you had chosen).   Up/Down may be either (You can later change it to "up" - Double click that line. A new window will open Now you can set: - the action to "IDE command" - Move Caret = yes - In the Ide command dropdown: "Find Procedure Definition" or "Find Procedure Method" - Click should already be: Left, Single, Shift, Ctrl   "Act on mouse up" should be on ---------------------------------------------------------------------- laggyluk · 2012-12-07 18:39 a bit complicated but worked thanks a lot ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Martin_fr · 2012-12-07 18:45 Quote from: laggyluk on December 07, 2012, 07:39:59 pma bit complicated but worked thanks a lot That is why the advanced options are usually folded away. They are "advanced" They where added, at a time where the normal options were even less flexible. And there are just too many different things peopl[e want to do by mouse. They still do not cover everything though ...
