why dont make a brainstorm to v1.1 lazarus / 6-IDE-CodeTools ---------------------------------------------------------------------- cpalx · 2010-08-18 03:02 now it is near the version 1.0, i think it is good idea to make a brainstorm between all the community to make the next roadmap ... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Leledumbo · 2010-08-18 04:54 Is it? How can you say so? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Martin_fr · 2010-08-18 11:51 This kind of proposal has popped up before. In fact it does on a very regular base. Now I can only speak for myself, but I guess the following can be applied to many of the developers: I choose to contribute to Lazarus, I do so in my spare time, and I do so without any remuneration. In fact the only reason I do so is, because I can (within the limits of the  project target) work on whatever I like to work. As a consequence I don't exactly need a roadmap led out for me by someone else. I wouldn't follow it anyway. I really don't want this to look arrogant, or to implicate that I wouldn't value feedback from others. I have taken ideas from others in the past, and probably will do it again. In fact I am glad about ideas contributed[1], but not as a roadmap, only as an idea, which anybody is *free* to pick up or leave out as they are pleased. If you have a specific idea, you should bring it forward, maybe it get's discussed[1], maybe someone picks it up and implements it. [1] Limited discussion about how it could be done is ok. There is *no* values in the discussion *why* or at which *priority* it should be done, because that simply depends on the person who will do it (if anyone at all).
