ExtPascal and databases. lazarus / 6-IDE-CodeTools ---------------------------------------------------------------------- fredycc · 2010-05-27 22:00 Hi Lazarus people; I don't find enough documentation about how can I connect a ExtPascal with a database; I'm not sure about it, the unique example with database from the page don't compile, some errors and is outdate; I can compile some other project sucessfully and seems great; but, how can I implement add, delete, update, stored procedures, manage transactions if somebody can give a little example, any information I would be grateful. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- bee · 2010-05-28 00:13 There IS a sample project in Files section of ExtPascal forum. The file name is d3tkjdt-ext300.zip. Your problem had been already answered there too. If you study it careful enough, both ExtPascal and ExtJS, you should find a way to connect database in the back end with ExtJS controls on the front end. Why would we create such a project if we couldn't do that? You just need to study it further, it's all there. Just for hints, before you take a look at the mentioned example above. I assume you had known about Ajax and basic web programming. First, you need to know how ExtJS's data store works with the controls. Second, you need to know how to grab data from server using ExtJS's data store. Third, you need to know how to format your database query result to suit ExtJS's data store format. Keep in mind that ExtJS's controls are not VCL or LCL, you have to change your mindset. So, you have to understand the way it works before you start using it. Also don't forget to study ExtJS's API documentation. For better support, please ask for help in ExtPascal forum. ExtPascal users are all there. Good luck. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- fredycc · 2010-05-28 06:30 Thanks for your answer bee; yes I guess I need study about ExtJS's and analyze that project in deep.
