Small suggestions lazarus / 6-IDE-CodeTools ---------------------------------------------------------------------- User137 · 2010-02-22 13:07 1) I installed Lazarus to be in english language but it came out appearing in finnish that is my home language. (workaround: can change after install from desktop options) Object inspector: 2) When i double click boolean property in Delphi it changes from true to false etc. Lazarus selects the boolean value as text first and then you have to doubleclick again so it changes. Doubleclicking on value field of collapsing item also doesn't collapse/uncollapse it. I know for 1 value this isn't major thing but if you got many boolean properties you have to change it's a clickfest atm. Source editor: 3) (Related to Codetools?) Delphi has this nice feature to show hint on function parameters while typing them, Lazarus only shows them when mouseover a function. Please add this one   Now... if Lazarus could keep it showing whenever caret is in a function it'd be even better than Delphi which hides it on first mistype. (bad workaround: keybinding) 4) It is currently not possible to drag and drop source tabs to change their places. I know it's possible to use right click-submenu to move them though. (this is fixed) Code explorer: 5) It would be useful feature to make it show only class methods, functions and procedures of unit. Class variables are only making the view more complicated than it needs to be. (fix: use source nodes -> implementation) 6) If 5) is corrected, then it would be awesome if i could dock/integrate Code explorer within left side of Source editor (scalable width). (workaround: move code explorer next to source manually... Doesn't feel quite right though, is a little bloated looks still) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Ñuño_Martínez · 2010-02-22 14:45 Quote from: User137 on February 22, 2010, 02:07:26 pm1) I installed Lazarus to be in english language but it came out appearing in finnish that is my home language. That would be a nice feature: to allow to change the IDE's language. BTW, may be a good idea to show it automatically with the possibility to enable/disable it. Menu: Environment -> Options... from there Environment -> Desktop -> Language The bug is that this language setting defaults to 'Automatic' when starting Lazarus the first time. Which I assume is the language setting of the OS. It would be nice if Lazarus would default to the language that was chosen during installation. The 'Automatic' option is superfluous IMHO. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Ñuño_Martínez · 2010-02-24 09:10 Quote from: JuhaManninen on February 22, 2010, 07:18:48 pmMenu: Environment -> Options... from there Environment -> Desktop -> Language ---------------------------------------------------------------------- User137 · 2010-03-04 15:46 Quote from: User137 on February 22, 2010, 02:07:26 pmCode explorer: 5) It would be useful feature to make it show only class methods, functions and procedures of unit. This also lets me jump straight to source, awesome! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- User137 · 2010-03-11 15:40 Quote from: User137 on February 22, 2010, 02:07:26 pm4) It is currently not possible to drag and drop source tabs to change their places. I know it's possible to use right click-submenu to move them though.I was able to make a key shortcut to AltGr+Left and AltGr+Right keys to easily move current tab, very nice. Also a while ago realized you can make Lazarus load up much faster by using command line parameter: --no-splash-screen ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Martin_fr · 2010-03-11 15:46 Quote from: User137 on February 22, 2010, 02:07:26 pm4) It is currently not possible to drag and drop source tabs to change their places. It works there. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- User137 · 2010-03-11 15:50 Aahh, stupid of me not even try that since installed last snapshot, yes it works now ---------------------------------------------------------------------- bobo · 2010-03-11 19:43 2) There is a patch submitted for this, but it is not in SVN yet. Waiting for a core developer to check it out and add it to the Lazarus source. http://bugs.freepascal.org/view.php?id=15956 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- User137 · 2010-04-22 14:13 It seems that Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V don't work in Object Inspector window. It copies or pastes stuff from/to last active form or source window. And there is no right click popup to copy text either. (Win32)
