key mapping scheme "classic" lazarus / 6-IDE-CodeTools ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Martin V · 2010-02-01 15:14 Hello, I still know the old "classic" Ctrl keycodes for using the editor which are extremely fast if you can type blind to the keyboard. I would like to improve the "classic" key settings for all users, because the current "classic" scheme is very incomplete at the moment. In which file are the default key mapping schemes and where can I send this modified file? But there's one point where the editor source code has to be modified: In all Wordstar-like editors like Delphi, Ctrl-XY is ALWAYS treated like Ctrl-X-Ctrl-Y. In Lazarus, both keycodes have to be set for a specific function, but then there would be the need of a third keycode for a specific function which is not available. This behaviour should be hard coded or it should be set with a checkbox "treat Ctrl-X-Ctrl-Y like Ctrl-XY". This modification would be extremly helpful for all "classic" users. Martin V. You can send patches to the bugtracker. The file with the default keymaps is:  ide\keymapping.pp As for the optional default translation of Ctrl-X Y to Ctrl-X Ctrl-Y: This would also require that the code which checks for conflicts must be extended.
