Integrated Help System? lazarus / 6-IDE-CodeTools ---------------------------------------------------------------------- whophlungpoo · 2009-12-16 01:07 It's possible I'm doing something wrong, but it would appear there is no integrated help system either from the F1 button or from the menu.  I get the Online help,  but this does not appear to be very useful.  For example, if you wanted to know the parameters for IntToString you would have to know that it resides in Sysutils.  Is there anyone working on an integrated help system like Delphi? If the answer is yes, then how can I get involved and help, if the answer is no, then how can I start the project? Thanks, jw ---------------------------------------------------------------------- alter · 2009-12-16 01:31 I know that this is not the best solution but if you know function name then type it in editor, right click and then find declaration option. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Paul Ishenin · 2009-12-16 01:33 http://wiki.lazarus.freepascal.org/IDE_Development#Builtin_CHM_help ---------------------------------------------------------------------- whophlungpoo · 2009-12-16 05:11 Thanks Paul, The CHM files look good.  When I tried to follow the instructions that you linked me to, It didn't function.  I will spend more time on it this weekend. I would think that eventually these help files should be installed automatically, that was one of the super powerful features of the original Delphi (1 through 7).  The help system was awesome, I'm currently using RAD studio 2007 (Delphi/CBuilder 2007)  and they have done something awful to the help system, reminds me of Visual Studio...EEEEEWWWWW!!!! At any rate, I would like to become involved in the development of Lazarus, it reminds me of Delphi 7. IMHO Delphi 7 was perfect and I think Lazarus will be even better. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Paul Ishenin · 2009-12-16 08:08 To make chmhelp work I suppose you need to download and build the sources from trunk.
