Minimize all open IDE windows lazarus / 6-IDE-CodeTools ---------------------------------------------------------------------- dunderhead · 2005-10-02 10:26 Hello, I am running lazarus 0.9.9 on Fedora Core 4 and would like all windows of the lazarus IDE (main, object inspector, messages etc.) minimized when I minimize the main window. There is a checkbox on the Environment | Environment options | Windows tabsheet that reads 'Minimize all on minimize main' - but this checkbox is permanently disabled on my system. Perhaps this option can be enabled in future releases of lazarus. Thanks. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Anonymous · 2006-03-04 15:33 He is BUG Minimize in Linux one by one... Everything in linux is difficult, is an *&%$$$ ...unwillingness ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Onjahyr-BR · 2006-09-07 17:44 E aí pessoal, vamos ver como fazer isso né?! NADA é impossível.......... Isso é muito chato minimizar um por um... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Marc · 2006-09-08 08:57 ehm... not all If it possible to minimize a window through code in X depends on the windowmanager used (and how good the widgetset interacts with it). Also, following other X apps, each laz window has it own entry in the WM taskbar (if such is available). So when minimizing the main (what is the main) window, all others should be minimized. But what if another window gets minimized. Besides does the WM notify the widgetset that a window is minumized ? Is it consistent with other apps..  etc. Personally, indeed, I find it annoying to close them one by one. But that happens wit other aps on X also. Maybe, if there is noting to do left, I might try to implement it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Onjahyr-BR · 2006-09-08 13:11 An idea would be to create a using option to choose it, between using the Lazarus as it is or as a type of "MDI" with only one form (this, for what! not). Uma idéia seria criar uma opção para o usuário escolher, entre usar o Lazarus como está ou como um tipo de "MDI" com apenas um formulário (isso, por quê não?). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Marc · 2006-09-08 15:11 Supporting MDI is even more difficult than minimizing all windows ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Onjahyr-BR · 2006-09-08 15:32 ok, MDI was alone an example. Only one TForm can use, separating the "windows" as objects inside of a TPanel. Text in portuguese: ok, MDI foi só um exemplo. Pode usar apenas um TForm, separando os "janelas" como objetos dentro de um TPanel.
