Hey,

I actually try to install the rx libraries (rxnew) on my Lazarus
installation.
I got an error message in unit rxdbgrid in line 1423 saying "Error:
Can´t take the address of constant expressions" ( Source:
Dec(GCache.ClientHeight, DefaultRowHeight * FooterRowCount + 2).
Any suggestions why this happens? On Windows XP installation works
fine.

My system:
Windows 7 , 64 bit
Lazarus 1.08 (32 bit)
FPC 2.6.2
SVN 40573
i386-win32-win32/win64

Newer FPC's don't allow writing access to properties via a reference
anymore. (which was necessary for inc()). This is Delphi compatible.

Just replace  dec(something, y)  with   something:=something-y; and it
will work fine.

I ran into the same problem but marcov solution did not work.

I changed the line:
Code: [Select]Dec(GCache.ClientHeight, DefaultRowHeight *
FooterRowCount + 2);toCode:
[Select]AGCache.ClientHeight:=AGCache.ClientHeight-(DefaultRowHeight *
FooterRowCount + 2);
And compiled fine. Not sure if this particular component will continue
working correctily though.

That is according to my suggest, and should remain working. Why do you
think it is different?
