What do 2 plus signs stand for? Are both packages mandarory? The plus signs mean that those packages will be built into Lazarus executable. They are not mandatory, just used for CGI development. How did they end up to your package list anyway? Juha ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Leledumbo · 2010-11-05 08:16 They also stand for runtime only packages (i.e. no addition to the IDE). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- asdf · 2010-11-07 11:26 I've decided to make a u-turn to v0.9.28.2 Beta. Now there is no plus sign at all. Not only the photos I have posted. There were some more below those such as lazreport, semaphorgrid etc. which have the plus sign on them. I could not open the project. So, now with v0.9.28.2 Beta, I can open my project as usual. P.S. lazreport, semaphorgrid are in component folder which come along with In v 0.9.29 , but why they couldn't be installed? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- JuhaManninen · 2010-11-08 07:24 Quote from: asdf on November 07, 2010, 12:26:19 pmI've decided to make a u-turn to v0.9.28.2 Beta. P.S. lazreport, semaphorgrid are in component folder which come along with In v 0.9.29 , but why they couldn't be installed? Indeed, LazReport informed about a missing dependency (PowerPDF was it?). However it compiled and installed OK and the wrong dependency disappeared. "semaphorgrid" is actually SemaphorGridLPK. I think there is a non- existent package listed. Now the question is, are those package names from an old Lazarus installation + configuration or are they wrong in the Lazarus trunk. Someone should check with a clean install (deleting all local config files, too). Q: the packages to be installed, did you add them manually or are they added as your project dependencies automatically? I guess they come from your project. I am sure we can get it working under the latest Lazarus 0.9.29. Just install the required packages one by one and tell us which can't be installed. Create a bug report if there is an error in Lazarus. Adjust the project dependencies if needed. Juha ---------------------------------------------------------------------- asdf · 2010-11-08 23:12 I installed some later and some are from IDE installation at first. Thank you so much for your kind assistance. I'll try again. Is the good to uninstall v0.9.28 first and then install a newer version? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- JuhaManninen · 2010-11-09 04:48 Quote from: asdf on November 09, 2010, 12:12:38 amIs the good to uninstall v0.9.28 first and then install a newer version? I would say yes. I myself would install first FPC 2.4.x from SourceForge and then Lazarus from SVN directly. That works on every platform. Juha ---------------------------------------------------------------------- asdf · 2010-11-10 16:46 Dear Juha After upgrading to be v0.9.29, the green plus signs are as photos attached herewith. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- asdf · 2010-11-10 16:52 Dear Juha And these 2 message boxes will alway show while starting Lazarus. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- JuhaManninen · 2010-11-10 21:13 Quote from: asdf on November 10, 2010, 05:52:02 pmAnd these 2 message boxes will alway show while starting Lazarus. Ok, so they are from an old Lazarus installation. You can remove them from the Package --> "Install/Uninstall packages..." window. Then, if you still have problems, please remove the local configuration files "packagefiles.xml" and "staticpackages.inc" (?), or remove them all. New default files will be generated when you start Lazarus next time. The local configuration files are in ~/.lazarus on Linux (don't remember the Windows path now). After you have a "clean" Lazarus running, install only the packages your project needs. Juha
