Help and F1 (Windows XP SP2, SP3) lazarus / 5-Lazarus Extra Components ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ayman · 2009-03-17 02:44 Hi the Lazarus "helphtml" example doesn't show any help. The Lazarus IDE doesn't produce any help screens either nor does it show a webpage. After looking into the sources I wonder if this is a common problem or mine alone. The problem doesn't seem to be connected to my firewall for it doesn't work with a deactivated firewall either. I use Opera as default web browser. It doesn't matter whether the browser is already running or not. For a moment or two the mouse pointer changes into the hourglass, but that's the only effect of the program. Helpful suggestions appreciated. Greetings Ayman ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ayman · 2009-03-26 22:00 Hi again, seeing no reply from anyone let's ask the other way around: Is there any Lazarus under Windows user who does get any response when using the THTMLHelpDatabase and/or THTMLBrowserHelpViewer components or when trying out the Lazarus "htmlhelp" example? Please, anyone? Ayman ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ayman · 2009-03-26 22:40 Found something  Lazarus > main menu > help > configure help A dialog poped up. I told him my browsers name and now I reach a website each time I hit F1. But sadly enough I still get _no_ response from the "htmlhelp" example. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- juandelacruz · 2009-05-27 12:37 if it's not too late, i also had this problem using lazarus 0.9.26.2 64 bit on win xp pro x64 sp2. i solved it by changing this line: Code: [Select]HTMLHelpDatabase1.BaseURL:='/usr'; to this: Code: [Select]HTMLHelpDatabase1.BaseURL := 'file://' + ExtractFilePath(Application.ExeName) + 'html/'; the example now shows the help file.  if anyone knows a better solution, i'd like to know it also
