[SOLVED] fpSpreadSheet 1.7 error while linking project lazarus / 49-FPSpreadsheet ---------------------------------------------------------------------- patyi · 2015-10-20 14:27 fpSpreadSheet 1.7 error while linking my project procedure TsSpreadBIFF2Reader.ReadFormat(AStream: TStream); var   len: byte;   fmtString: AnsiString;   nfs: String; begin   // number format string   len := AStream.ReadByte;   SetLength(fmtString, len);   AStream.ReadBuffer(fmtString[1], len);   // We need the format string as utf8 and non-localized   nfs := ConvertEncoding(fmtString, FCodePage, EncodingUTF8, False);  <- error !!!   // Add to the end of the list.   NumFormatList.Add(nfs); end;    The error message is : .../lib/i386-linux/xlsbiff2.o: In function `READLABEL': xlsbiff2.pas(630,1) Error: undefined reference to `LCONVENCODING_$$_CO NVERTENCODING$ANSISTRING$ANSISTRING$ANSISTRING$$ANSISTRING' .../lib/i386-linux/xlsbiff2.o: In function `READFORMAT': Urgent ! Today I updated the old work !   I'm miss some unit from uses section ?  Thanks ! XUbuntu 15.04 i386, Lazarus 1.5 today svn, FPC 3.1.1 todey svn,  fpSpreadSheet 1,7 today svn ---------------------------------------------------------------------- wp · 2015-10-20 15:24 Updated Laz and fpc to the latest svn versions --> no compilation error for fpspreadsheet. Did you rebuild fpc and Laz after updating? P.S. There is one word which I don't like to see in forum posts and bug reports: "Urgent"... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- patyi · 2015-10-20 17:26 Sorry for the "urgent", I mean, you can not build my project until it is fixed ... Yes I rebuild FPC and Lazarus, and re-installed the fpSpreadSheet package. Compiler carried out this work - there is no error, the linker is causing the problem, and therefore I assume is missing a unit. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- wp · 2015-10-20 17:38 "ConvertEncoding" is in unit "lConvEncoding". I wonder why the compiler is touching fpspreadsheet at all. Does your project contain laz_fpspreadsheet as a requirement, or do you have the fpspreadsheet files in the search path of your project? The latter case is not recommended, you should at least have package LazUtils as a requirement in your project to find the lConvEncoding. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- patyi · 2015-10-20 17:48 I have laz_fpspreadsheet_visual, laz_fpspreadsheetsxport_visual and laz_fpspreadsheet as a project requirement, no paths is defined, also added LazUtils to requirement, but same error is shown. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- patyi · 2015-10-20 18:03 I solved the problem! I deleted all the files in the project directory ../lib/i386-linux/ it seems the problem was caused by compiler version conflicts Thank you for trying to help !
