LAMW: How to check if a file exists in assets, at runtime? lazarus / 43-Android ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Manlio · 2019-08-02 07:43 Is there a way to check if a file exists in the app's assets? I cannot use FileExists(), because Assets files are not in a regular folder, but are bundled (zipped) in the APK. So, is there perhaps another way to find whether a file exists in the Assets, at runtime? Thank you ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Thaddy · 2019-08-02 10:00 You can use the viewzip function in the unzip package (a standard package in FPC). I did not test it, but that should work with APK files too. What I do know is that this package can be compiled for android and works. There is an example in the comments of sourcecode of the unzip package. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Manlio · 2019-08-02 11:26 Quote from: Thaddy on August 02, 2019, 12:00:42 pmYou can use the viewzip [...] that should work with APK files too. Do you mean that while the app is running I can open the app's APK file itself, with viewzip, and read it? And if I understood that correctly, how do you get the actual path of the currently running APK? If I can get that path, I can try to open that file (APK is a ZIP file), and we'll see if the operating system allows that file to be opened...
