How to enable Lazarus to compile to Android? lazarus / 43-Android ---------------------------------------------------------------------- alexpik · 2017-10-27 13:27 I did not used Lazarus for almost two years. I installed version 1.0.10 and found Android as an option for Target OS and I decided to test with ARM as the CPU family, all that in the Options window. But when I exit the Options window I receive a message that says fpc.exe is not compaticle with android-arm Then I decided to test with other CPU families but nothing. Is it really functional or it's there just as a promise? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Leledumbo · 2017-10-27 15:13 Search and read everything in the wiki that contains "Android" and "cross compiling" term. To quickly answer, cross compilation is not enabled by default in all official installation package, whatever the target is. For some targets, precompiled packages are provided, but the rest, you must build yourself either manually or using some other tools such as fpcupdeluxe. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- CC · 2017-10-29 10:21 alexpik I would definitely recommend FPCUPdeluxe to set up the system. "Trunk" worked for me for both Lazarus and FPC. When it comes to packages the  Online Package manager is more polished, but there are packages only available in fpcupdeluxe, like LAMW. It takes some effort to  learn it, but it makes most of the Android ecosystem available. Though it is probably best to clone the git repo for LAMW directly. Before adding extra packages it is probably a good idea to setup the Online Package manager  to use the same package folder as fpcupdeluxe to have all packages at the same location: eg "c:\fpcupdeluxe\ccr\" If you go with FPCUPdeluxe  the project Custom options must be changed from the default options like this. (This goes for all the Demos as well.) -CfVFPV3 (instead of -CfSoft) -CpARMV7A (instead of -CpARMV6) Something like https://sourceforge.net/projects/findandreplace/ can be useful to replace in  .lpi files for all Demo projects. Uncheck "Treat unknown files as binary" in  settings. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Thaddy · 2017-10-29 10:35 Quote from: Leledumbo on October 27, 2017, 05:13:51 pmSearch and read everything in the wiki that contains "Android" and "cross compiling" term. Actually the wiki is soooo wrong in sooo many places - particularly on this subject - that that is hit and miss. Throw a dice and good luck... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Handoko · 2017-10-31 17:59 @alexpik Android programming in Lazarus is a bit complicated. The easiest I think is using Lazarus Android Module Wizard. This is the tutorial for LAMW (Linux only): http://forum.lazarus.freepascal.org/index.php/topic,38777.msg264419.ht ml#msg264419 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- jmpessoa · 2017-11-02 22:50 QuoteIf you go with FPCUPdeluxe  the project Custom options must be changed from the default options like this. Thanks! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- CC · 2017-11-02 23:25 jmpessoa, Wow! It was not even a request, just an observation.
