Complaining about missing fpc.cfg when pointing to crosscompiler lazarus / 43-Android ---------------------------------------------------------------------- scaddenp · 2013-06-21 08:32 What I did. Downloaded FPC source truck. Install FPC. Make crosscompiler for ARM Android as per wiki instructions. (working with win7 64) Now I want to use Lazarus. Uninstall FPC. Install Lazarus. So far so good. Now point the compiler path to directory where the crosscompiler and the fpc.cfg live. It says cant find fpc.cfg. Wondered if there was problem with content, but it is fpc.cfg from wiki with path changed. Doubled checked for typos. Looks good. Any ideas??? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Leledumbo · 2013-06-21 14:14 Could you show your directory layout? Both native and cross compiler? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- scaddenp · 2013-06-22 02:22 Away from my work at moment. They are in completely different directory trees. Could that be the issue? Native is where the default Lazarus distribution puts it: ie C:\Lazarus\FPC etc. Crosscompiler and fpc.cfg in something like: C:\Android\crosscom\pp Where is the recommended place to put it? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Leledumbo · 2013-06-22 03:13 I suggest they're under one directory tree, so you only need 1 fpc.cfg. Anyway, try Project->Project Options->Test with your arm- android target chosen. Perhaps the IDE executes fpc instead of ppcrossarm. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- scaddenp · 2013-06-23 23:42 Okay, I am now back with my main machine and struggling about to merge the instructions from http://wiki.lazarus.freepascal.org/Android and http://wiki.lazarus.freepascal.org/Custom_Drawn_Interface I notice the virtual box hasnt been updated since 2011 so trying to do with fpcsrc trunk and latest lazarus/fpc2.6.2 I am trying the project option test but here is the layout. My lazarus layout is c:\lazarus\fpc\2.6.2 I moved the crosscompiler to c:\lazarus\fpc\pp\ When I start Lazarus is says compiler path is: C:\lazarus\fpc\pp\bin\i386-win32\ppcrossarm.exe which look right BUT it also say Error: fpc.cfg is missing. Now I start the IDE (ignore the warning). I go to project options Test Test is: C:\lazarus\fpc\pp\bin\i386-win32\ppcrossarm.exe  -MObjFPC -Scghi -WR -O1 -Tlinux -Parm -Xs -XX -va -FiC:\lazarus\examples\androidlcl\lib\arm-linux -FlC:\Android\android- ndk-r8e\platforms\android-14\arch-arm\usr\lib -FlC:\Android\android- ndk-r8e\toolchains\arm-linux- androideabi-4.7\prebuilt\windows-x86_64\lib\gcc\arm-linux- androideabi\4.7 -FuC:\lazarus\lcl\units\arm-linux\customdrawn -FuC:\lazarus\lcl\units\arm-linux -FuC:\lazarus\components\lazutils\lib\arm-linux -FuC:\lazarus\packager\units\arm-linux -FuC:\lazarus\examples\androidlcl\ -FUC:\lazarus\examples\androidlcl\lib\arm-linux\ -l -dLCL -dLCLcustomdrawn -dANDROID -Xd -CpARMV6 C:\Users\scaddenp\AppData\Local\Temp\testcompileroptions.pas It reports: Hint: using config file C:\lazarus\fpc\pp\i386-win32\fpc.cfg (ie the one it says it cant find!) Now I get a lot bunch of missing paths: C:\lazarus\examples\androidlcl\lib\arm-linux C:\lazarus\lcl\units\arm-linux\customdrawn C:\lazarus\lcl\units\arm-linux I assume I should point to the units under pp?? (but no customdrawn there). c:\lazarus\components\lazutils\lib\arm-linux c:\lazarus\packager\units\arm-linux http://wiki.lazarus.freepascal.org/Custom_Drawn_Interface/Android#Buil ding_the_compiler_yourself_in_Windows talks about getting units from branch fpcAndroid - still do this? Also, it talks about getting these executables out of the sdk. I assume I still do this? C:\Programas\fpcandroid\output\bin\i386-win32\arm-linux-as.exe C:\Programas\fpcandroid\output\bin\i386-win32\arm-linux-ld.exe C:\Programas\fpcandroid\output\bin\i386-win32\arm-linux-strip.exe As you can see, thoroughly confused here. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Leledumbo · 2013-06-24 11:52 QuoteWhen I start Lazarus is says compiler path is: C:\lazarus\fpc\pp\bin\i386-win32\ppcrossarm.exe which look right BUT it also say Error: fpc.cfg is missing. This is not really the problem that the IDE can't find fpc.cfg AFAIR, I got this problem previously in my office installation and it's due to my antivirus scanning the compiler while it's tested by the IDE. Don't know if it's the same as yours or not, but you can try putting the compiler to exception list. QuoteNow I get a lot bunch of missing paths: C:\lazarus\examples\androidlcl\lib\arm-linux C:\lazarus\lcl\units\arm-linux\customdrawn C:\lazarus\lcl\units\arm-linux I assume I should point to the units under pp?? (but no customdrawn there). No, the directories should be made automatically when you build the project. Don't point to units under pp, it's already correct. Quotehttp://wiki.lazarus.freepascal.org/Custom_Drawn_Interface/Android #Building_the_compiler_yourself_in_Windows talks about getting units from branch fpcAndroid - still do this?No more, http://wiki.lazarus.freepascal.org/Android should contain the latest info. QuoteAlso, it talks about getting these executables out of the sdk. I assume I still do this? You do need the SDK (Java library) & NDK (Native library + assembler + linker), you can copy that to the same directory as the compiler or anywhere in path. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- scaddenp · 2013-06-24 21:00 Well in some desparation, I downloaded CodeTyphoon and it did all the heavy lifting. I can now see what the layout should be, but CT has done the job. I have successfully built androidlcltest in CT. Can move on to some more testing... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- pijnack · 2014-12-15 12:16 I had the same problem after installing fpc, fpc-src and lazarus in this order. I uninstalled fpc and fpc-source with --nodeps option, kept lazarus, reinstalled fpc-src/fpc and the problem was gone.
