Leon a strong Backgammon/Tavli software that imported to Android (pre alpha) lazarus / 43-Android ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Kostas · 2013-02-16 15:11 Hi all, after some work the last months i made it possible to import my creation Leon - King of Tavli to Android using FPC. The original program (www.leon.tournavitis.de) was compiled using Delphi. I first did some changes to the GUI to import it in FPC and then with a lot of help of the community here i made it possible to run it in Android! The program uses Graphics32 (as the original Delphi version too) for the GUI. The program is still in a pre alpha version, but it plays the games 100% without any known problems or any restrictions at least on my Galaxy Note smartphone. If you like, you can download and install the pre alpha verstion of the program from here: http://www.tournavitis.de/leon/mobile/Leon.apk I would like to hear your opinion, compatibility issues with other Android smart phones/tablets or different Android operating system versions. In the version that i provide, Leon uses the Arm FPU for fast calculations so i guess that it wont run on older Arm CPUS that have no FPU. I also made 2 different versions, one using FPU emulation, which is very very slow and one using integer arithmetics, which is somewhat faster but still slow.. I would like to hear your opinion if these versions would be for interest. Some thinks about Leon: 1. Leon is a very strong backgammon/tavli software that uses neural networks for its evaluation function. The mobile edition uses exactly the same evaluation function as the windows version! 2. The mobile edition searches 'only' to 2 plies ahead and it not possible at this moment to change this. 2 plies is very strong and fast too, so i decided to let it in constant for the pre alpha version. This will be changed of course in the future. 3. Except point 2 the mobile edition plays exactly the same as the 'big' edition since both share the same code base! Please let me know if you have any problems with the program so that it can be further developed. Although i tried to make Leon as stable as possible if you decide to install this pre alpha edition, you do it on your own risk! Regards Kostas ---------------------------------------------------------------------- DelphiFreak · 2013-02-19 19:08 Hi, I downloaded and installed it on my tablet. It seems to work and look's nice. ( sorry I have no idea how to play backgamon ). Congratulation! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Kostas · 2013-02-20 08:47 Thank you for testing the software! What tablet do you have? Which Android version? And which CPU? Are the animations fast enough? In case that you are interested in the backgammon/tavli variations that Leon plays you can take a look here: http://www.bkgm.com/variants/Tavli.html Regards Kostas ---------------------------------------------------------------------- DelphiFreak · 2013-02-20 19:38 Hi, here the info about my tablet: Android-Version 4.0.3 Model: TAB-9701 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- fastblade · 2013-02-21 02:47 It works with my phone HTC 328d, Android 4.0.3 The animation is fine, but I don't know how to play, so, just press the screen and see some actions randomly. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- mas steindorff · 2013-02-22 21:45 works on acer A500 with 4.0.3 (but I don't get any action from the options menu and the keyboard pops up when I start the program) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- jack616 · 2013-03-04 19:12 7" scroll basic plus V2 Android 4.0.4 Kernel 3.0.8+ Seems to work with no problems (again sorry I dont know the game)
