androidlcltest.apk does nothing on my android tablet lazarus / 43-Android ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Michael Collier · 2013-02-11 20:59 Hi, I have compiled the androidlcl example and installed onto my android tablet (mid m9000 running android 4.0) but when I run the application a dark blank screen comes up with "LCL Test" caption and then it disappears, any ideas, I'm assuming it compiled ok or it would not produce the apk file in the first place? Any ideas?? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Leledumbo · 2013-02-11 23:32 adb logcat content? It should display the form as in the designer ---------------------------------------------------------------------- felipemdc · 2013-02-12 11:18 Yes, the logcat content is indispensable to say anything. A link to somewhere which describes this tablet would also be nice. It should include the manufacturer, processor architecture, etc. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- picstart · 2013-02-12 14:52 Well, the example didn't work on my 7" tablet either 4.0.4 android MID F22. Since the android development using eclipse does work it will be the route often taken. Many would like to leverage the lazarus experience to more than just a desktop platform. Further the desktop environment is the setting sun and the handheld environment is the rising sun. The single point of failure and massive dependency issues incurred using lazarus  plus the obtuse subsurface compilation and install instructions are doing violence to the ideal of code once and run anywhere. Most will choose an easier route to creating an android app. The delphi's main innovation was its intuitive way to develop applications for the desktop. This tradition has been emulated with the desktop lazarus that even though it is an unforgiving install will if downloaded from this site install and actually run a hello world application almost out of the box. This is about as far as it goes since handhelds require cross compiling and its incurred single point of failure issues.  The Delphi/Lazarus innovation is negated if hours and even weeks are wasted trying permutations of obtuse set up instructions just to get a simple hello world to run on a new platform. The gain in productivity afforded by a lazarus ide is very much offset by the unproductive environmental setup procedures offered as the alternative to an out of the box setup. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- felipemdc · 2013-02-12 14:53 Without copying the contents of logcat nothing can be said about your problem. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Michael Collier · 2013-02-12 15:50 Quote from: felipemdc on February 12, 2013, 12:18:27 pmA link to somewhere which describes this tablet would also be nice. Thanks, I'm trying to figure that out at the moment... 1) I connect the tablet to my PC and the andoid shows that it is connected and ready to do usb debugging 2) My PC (vista) says it can't find drivers for the android, trying to track this down... 3) To execute the "adb logcat content" do I execute the .bat files in the android example directory, I did try them and they say they are waiting for device (permanently)
