Unable to enter a number in TEdit

I am not able to enter a number in a TEdit box.
I run the  this on Android 2.3.7 (cm7 mod)
What can be wrong?
Alphanumeric characters  are no problem.

Could you post a screenshot showing your virtual keyboard and how you
input the numbers? For me it works fine in HTC Wildfire.

Here are the screenshots. In the alfanumeric keyboard I hold doen the
q to select the 1.The 1 gets selected but no character is inserted.
Even when I select the numberic keyboard and press the 1 key no
character is inserted  ??

I have a HTC Desire where I do my testing on.

I have tested with my other keyborad (Swype) it works ok with this
keyborard. Now the numbers are inserted. When I switch back to the
default android keyboard the numbers are not inserted anymore.
