Can we create production ready application lazarus / 43-Android ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Packs · 2023-07-02 07:50 Can we create production ready application in Lazarus Android ---------------------------------------------------------------------- af0815 · 2023-07-02 07:59 It depends on the definition of "productions ready". And Android is a fast moving target, so I can say not production friendly by Google itself. It is breaking often basic habits . Eg. VPN L2Tp/IPsec is working up to Version 12, but not working with V13, because some breaking changes in the used protocol, this can be a no-go for production and company hardware. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Packs · 2023-07-02 08:17 I am planning to build Lazarus Android application for end user's. I don't know what type of Android device they are using.I mean Android version. As well as it should support Android phone manufacturer os too. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Leledumbo · 2023-07-02 23:50 Quote from: Prakash on July 02, 2023, 09:50:42 amCan we create production ready application in Lazarus Android I can, but I don't know your capabilities, such as your lack of understanding of Android development from this statement: QuoteI don't know what type of Android device they are using.I mean Android version.Basically the target version you set is as you wish, but if you want it to be available in Play Store you must follow Play Store rules, which is almost always expect the target to be the latest-1. However, you can specify minimum version to allow devices with older version to install and run your app. The runnability is your responsibility to check, though. Google only does basic sanity check. Quote from: Prakash on July 02, 2023, 09:50:42 amAs well as it should support Android phone manufacturer os too. They're mostly built on top, not changing any of the core API. Your app will work in practically any Android based OS. The story would be different if you want to support that "on top" additional features. For example, Xiaomi phones have access to Mi Cloud, which your app might be able to utilize (unchecked, though). You can still differentiate devices by reading build.prop (through its wrappers API) by checking the manufacturer field and only open the feature when the phone supports it, though.
