OpenVG for Raspberry Pi - restart lazarus / 39-Graphics ---------------------------------------------------------------------- richardcgiroux · 2016-12-16 20:33 I am trying to use the excellent port of the OpenVG library but I am running into trouble compiling I am trying to compile the project from inside Lazarus because this code will be part of a larger project.  I can comple the hellovg program but I get the error: "Runtime Error at 216 ...." The original hellovg program that came with the zip works fine. Any help would be great! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Thaddy · 2016-12-17 07:25 There is an update because the internal record structure n the wrapper library was changed by A.J. Starks from the previous version. I have a new version available for testing that reflects the latest github version. http://freepascal.thaddy.com/fpcopenvg.7z contains a new Alpha. Should work, but needs some polishing. You may need to install p7zip on your raspberry pi to unpack: sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install p7zip There will be a versioned beta later this weekend that contains the new FreeType and TTF font support. Also note there will be a TCustomCanvas derived OpenVG canvas in the near future that is independent of the AJSTARKS wrapper class that uses openvg directly. The library has some dependencies: sudo apt-get install libjpeg8-dev indent libfreetype6-dev ttf-dejavu- core  If you haven't done that before. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Thaddy · 2016-12-17 11:17 Note that I won't change the API, except for the two user defined warnings. So you can use the units already as-is. Let me know if it works or not. PS: this time the included compiled binaries are compiled for armhf v7 and not for armhf v6, so these are for the PI3 only. The sourcecode, however, is for ALL Raspberry pi's including Pi Zero. And they include debug info, so are a bit larger. It can be built for the other Pies, though. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- richardcgiroux · 2016-12-17 19:07 Thank you very much for your work and responding, I realize you have other things to do with your time. I am working on a project that requires that I put a transparent window with controls over a video feed (OMXplayer). I am very interested in the TCustomCanvas as it will work perfectly in my project.  I realize that year end is a time crunch for everyone so please let me know if there is anything I can do to assist.  (I am happy to pay for your time it that will help.) My environment is a Pi3. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Thaddy · 2016-12-18 07:22 Probably sometime over christmas. Meanwhile, please let me know if the new code is OK. Basically only one internal record format changed and everything should now work. And A.J. Starks forgot to mention that was a breaking change ---------------------------------------------------------------------- richardcgiroux · 2016-12-30 19:45 Your code works perfectly. I had to first upgrade the compiler on the Pi to 3.X but after that, it worked well. I even managed to convert the hellovg program into a Lazarus program. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- richardcgiroux · 2016-12-31 14:14 I've been doing some testing but I haven't figured out how to create a window with a transparent background. Does AJStarks library support this?
